Courage - heart - fearless. What do these mean to you? I've talked to the brilliant Sandra Walston on all matters courageous...
This time last week I was enjoying the extremely well organised UK Business Awards (thanks to all the staff there). I was one of the five judges tasked to pick the winner of the Inspirational Leader category.
I absolutely loved the day – tiring though it was, but in every way the best sort of tired! To listen to so many clever and dedicated people who are putting their heart and soul into their work - grafting to create a better way, to motivate their teams and to do their absolute best every day – well it was an inspirational time.
As I type, I am getting into position behind my very own judging panel table, ready to judge a succession of hopeful people who are no doubt deeply anxious and stressed by the whole occasion!
I am obviously not judging a dancing competition (that probably didn't need clarifying for those of you who know me!), no, no. I *am* judging the #InspirationalLeaders category in the UK Business Awards 2019.
What is your business and did it choose you or did you choose it? My work is all about empowerment. I am passionate about supporting individuals, couples, teams and whole organisations develop positive self-belief and the strategies to help them reach their potential. It is not so much a choice but a way of life. It is who I am.
It was a great privilege to be interviewed by Angela T Moore on her Radio show Empowered. Here is the Facebook video of the show..
I believe the western world is being badly affected by what I describe as 'social depression'. A feeling that you are helpless, that things are being done by others over which you have no control. A sense of overwhelm, fatigue and low mood which persists and you are not quite sure why.
I think we are absorbing the negativity which surrounds us and for the most part are unaware of the growing miasma until it sucks our vitality. Rather like the Dementors in Harry Potter.
Welcome to this monthly series of dialogues between Gina Gardiner and Deborah Thorne, The Information Diva
Next week, I am going to spend a whole day listening to inspirational business people who are trying their absolute best to make a difference to their, and other’s lives. One by one they will arrive on a stage in front of me and they will speak from their heart about their individual missions or visions. I am going to *love* it!
On this care giving radio program, Pamela D. Wilson, care giving expert, talks about the Challenges of Being in the Sandwich Generation Caring for Aging Parents and Children. Guest Gina Gardiner, international coach for reaching your potential, talks about Overcoming Obstacles after her life was changed by a tragic skiing accident at the age of twenty-eight.
Great leadership offers inspiration, optimism and hope, a clear vision and a strategic plan to find a successful way forward, the will and the capacity to bring people together to find effective solutions and lasting success.
